About the event

Local historian Ron Claussen will return to continue to the story of the doomed Castlewood Dam, this time focusing on the personalities behind its development. Constructed in 1889, the Dam was meant to be a boon to local agriculture. But it's flawed construction famously caused it to fail on August 3, 1933, flooding Cherry Creek through Parker and all the way to downtown Denver.

Do you know the name of the construction company that built the Dam? Are you aware of who the hero was? What did he/she receive

as an award? There have been a number of little facts that have been uncovered over the last 20+ years, some only a year ago. Come and learn

some semi/not-interesting facts about the folks who built the Dam.

This is a free presentation, open to everyone.
